Mary Ann Abbott is a clinical mental health counseling intern and M.A. candidate in Naropa University's Transpersonal Art-Based Therapy program. She brings a person-centered, trauma-informed, and creative approach to counseling, with particular interest in helping people navigate life transitions, identity, disconnection, anxiety, and experiences that can leave them feeling stuck or disconnected from themselves.

Mary Ann believes healing does not always happen through words alone. Her approach invites curiosity about the body, emotions, imagery, creativity, and the ways people make meaning from their experiences. She is especially interested in art-based and experiential approaches that can help clients explore what may be difficult to articulate and discover new ways of relating to themselves.

Before becoming a counselor, Mary Ann spent many years working in design, where curiosity, creative problem-solving, and understanding people's experiences were central to her work. She brings that same curiosity into the therapeutic relationship, along with warmth, openness, humor, and a deep respect for each client's individual path.
