About Kelsey

Kelsey is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, originally from Miami, Florida. Kelsey earned her MSW from Florida Atlantic University in 2020, where she gained invaluable experience in South Florida treatment centers and working with veterans at the VA. Kelsey developed a passion for supporting individuals in healing from past trauma, addictions, and dysfunctional relationships while working in inpatient and outpatient settings. She believes in utilizing an empowering approach to help individuals build insight into causes of dysfunctional patterns, learn adaptive coping skills, and ultimately build a life in alignment with their goals and values.

Prior to working at Brave, Kelsey was a clinical supervisor at a Dialectical Behavioral Therapy facility specializing in trauma, personality disorders, relationship issues, and substance use recovery. Her work is grounded in the philosophy of DBT, which is founded on Eastern philosophy and mindfulness-based practices. She uses a combination of CBT, DBT, and polyvagal theory to empower clients to repair their nervous system with concrete tools and learn how to respond with intention rather than react out of impulses. She believes therapy is a process of self-discovery to build insight into our own thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors to overcome self-limiting beliefs. Kelsey strives to practice compassion and a non-judgmental stance in all settings.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time in nature, reading, doing yoga, and being with her dog. She believes in the strengths of diversity, honoring diverse experiences, and respecting each individual's innate intuition. She is a lifelong learner and loves to be a student and practitioner first. She is likely planning her next adventure or workshop to attend for personal growth and connection.
